Pop-jazz-Adult Contemporary singer and composer/lyricist Steven Taetz is based in Toronto. He has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall (NY), The Rogers Centre (Toronto), Capital Pride Festival's main tage (Wash DC), Hotel Café (LA), Rochester Intnl Jazz Festival, Waterloo Jazz Festival, House of Jazz (Montreal), National Music Centre's King Eddy (Calgary), and Toronto International Jazz Festival amongst many other leading venues and festivals.
As a lyricist and composer, Steven Taetz has written for many internationally renowned artists, with songs published on Universal (Europe and Canada), Nettwerk, Sony Music, and Shapiro Bernstein (US).
Leading a cross-Canadian collaborative project, he co-wrote a self-titled concept album with JUNO-award-winners from each province of Canada. Taetz’s material has charted for radio play and sales. His 2018 sophomore release debuted at #3 on iTunes, charted on radio worldwide, and received praise from leading media.
He has collaborated with leaders in Canadian music, including Jill Barber, Barbra Lica, Michael Occhipinti, Drew Jurecka, The Once, Connie Kaldor, Leela Gilday, Tara Maclean, The Wild Strawberries, Sonia Johnson, Tia Brazda, and many more.
Steven Taetz's new album will be released in 2020, including "forbidden songs" pop-jazz-Adult Contemporary that will reflect a matured sound, with the same humour and polish that characterized his recent projects. For this project he has collaborated with Jill Barber, Barbra Lica, Drew Jurecka, Les Cooper, and many others to create fresh material that will resonate with young and old. Touring across Canada, US, and beyond is planned for 2020 and onward.
